FAQ Nano & Nano Combo Brows

Nano brows create similar hairstrokes to microblading but are done with a machine. The pigment is still being distributed into the skin at a superficial layer deeming it “semi-permanent” and we are still using cosmetic pigments vs tattoo ink which will break down gradually over the next 1-3 years. Although microblading is great, it does have its limitations as it is only ideal for dry-normal skin types. We have found that oily/combination skin tends to hold on to the nano strokes better. Additionally, most experience less “Shrinkage” while healing. Nano brows can be done on its own creating a hairstroke look, or combined with powder (combo brows) in between the strokes to create a more structured/ filled in brow.

Current clients may switch to this technique at their next refresh at a rate of $350. For new clients the rate is $800 with a senior artist which includes 1 touch up. Or $700 with junior artist Indy, which also includes 1 touch up.

FAQ

  • Any skin type is good with nano brows, many people with oily/combination or sensitive skin prefer this technique to microblading.

  • Microblading is done with a handheld, manual tool and nano blades (a small group of needles on a slant) to create papercut like scratches into the skin where pigment settles in and the skin heals over top, locking it in place. Nano hair stroke brows are done with a machine method and a fine needle is used to “draw” each hairstroke in place. The color is stippled under the skin with the needle leaving the skin less open than traditional microblading.

  • Yes. We can do nano hair strokes on their own for a more natural look, or we can combine them with shading for a more structured look. We recommend combo brows for those with little to no hair.

  • Not necessarily. With the correct technique, both services can be done safely with little trauma to the skin. The amount of trauma or “risk of scarring” all comes down to the artist, the aftercare and the client's ability to follow the aftercare. I generally choose to do nano hair strokes over microblading based on the clients skin type and preference, but never due to safety concerns.

  • Some skin types find that nano brows last longer than traditional microblading, but a refresh is still recommended every 1-2 years as it is still considered semi-permanent. If you have tried traditional microblading and aren’t getting the longevity you desire, I recommend giving nano hair strokes a try to see if this makes a difference for your skin type.

  • Most find they experience little to no pain at all. My clients find it feels similar to my microblading technique. Numbing is used before and during the appointment to keep you comfortable. It feels nothing like a tattoo as it is far more comfortable

  • Yes. We will give you an aftercare kit with everything you need and the same rules still apply.

  • My clients have found that with our signature medicated aftercare protocol, both our nano and microbladed hair strokes heal in about the same time….initial healing is 7 days with 4-6 weeks for complete healing between touch up appts.

  • An initial treatment is scheduled for 2 hours, a touch up is scheduled for 1 hour and a refresh is scheduled for 1.5 hours.
